The War of the Roses - 700 Words

The War of the Roses were a series of dynastic wars fought between supporters of two rival branches of the royal house of plantagenet,the house of Lancaster and york. This wars were fought in several sprordartic espisodes beteen 1455 and 1487. In my opinion this war was not necessary for the history of Europe because they could only had had talked and solve it in a simple way. The War of the Roses is called The War of the Roses because the two houses are represented by two roses, the House of Lancaster is represented by a red rose and the House of York is represented by a white rose. The War of the Roses started because when Henry VI had the crown, he was ill so his cousin, Richard Plantagenet said that he would take care of England while†¦show more content†¦The Tudor House has a very complex family tree and it has more than 30 members. First Henry VII married Elizabeth of York and had four children: Arthur, Prince of Wales, Henry VII of England, Margaret Tudor (Queen of Scots) and Mary Tudor (Queen of France). Arthur got married with Catherine of Aragon and didn’t have children. Henry VIII got married 6 times with Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Catherine Howard and Catherine Parr, he also had three children: Mary I of England, Elizabeth I of England and Edward VI of England. His sister Margaret Tudor got m arried three times with James IV of Scotland, Archibald Douglass and Henry Stewart, she had two children: James V of Scotland and Margaret Douglass. The last one in the family, Mary Tudor only got married two times, the first one with Louis XII of France and Charles Brandon, she didn’t have any children. Elizabeth of York made part of the House of York and when she married Henry VII Tudor, the two houses bonded to create the House of Tudor. There were many wars during this time, the first one being the War of St. Albans in 1459 where Richards yorkish army defeats Henry’s lancastrian army.
